About
Hi there! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Amy, and I’m passionate about creating delightful end-to-end user experiences that improve the lives of others. I currently work at Amplify, where I’m helping build a new science education product to be used in K-12 classrooms across the country. I’m an extroverted people-person who loves connecting with and understanding others. I enjoy in-depth user research, collaborative brainstorming sessions, and diving head-first into design sprints.
While working as a teacher in an under-resourced school in Oakland, CA, I was constantly dreaming up products I wished existed—products that would make my day-to-day easier so I could spend my time becoming a better teacher. This experience ignited my interest in product design, so I ended up leaving the classroom to help build a new differentiated K-12 learning platform at Freckle Education. There, I learned the power of incorporating a human-centered approach in product development. Thanks to my BA in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (which I earned before I knew anything about UX design), I have a strong foundation in research methods that help me understand the behavior, goals, and needs of users.
I’m curious by nature and always seeking to learn something new, whether by getting lost in a new book, taking an online course, or traveling the world on a solo adventure. I look forward to hearing and learning from you!
